Retrieval-augmented generation brings selected material into an AI model’s context before it produces an answer. Retrieval quality matters: missing context or irrelevant passages can weaken the response.
Keep the evidence visible.
Our proposed approach is to retain source references, distinguish current material from old records and enforce access boundaries before retrieval. Decide what the system should do when evidence is missing or contradictory. Retrieval does not guarantee a correct answer.
Test the useful work.
Use representative questions and review both the answer and its sources. Include difficult cases and questions the system should not answer. Compare quality and time against a recorded baseline before claiming an improvement.
