Build a community people can contribute to.

Participation needs a useful purpose, clear ownership and a reason to return.

Rewritten for the global ReMotive site · 10 September 2026. Practical guidance, with no promised performance outcome.

A shared brief connects different perspectives.

Find the shared interest.

A customer list is not automatically a community. Explore what people want to learn, solve or experience together. Consider whether the brand has a credible role in supporting that interest.

Make participation practical.

Start with a manageable invitation: contribute a question, share experience, join a discussion or help shape an event. Give newcomers a clear first step and explain what happens after they take it.

Invest in the work behind the space.

Budget for editorial planning, moderation and response. Agree ownership before choosing a platform. Consider how participation will work across languages, time zones and different levels of familiarity with the subject.

Connect community and media thoughtfully.

Paid activity can introduce a relevant invitation. Owned content can give it a home. Participant contributions may suggest better questions for the next brief. Sharing should remain a choice; it is not a guaranteed source of free reach.

Learn from the relationship.

Review repeat participation, the usefulness of contributions and any relevant commercial next steps. Use feedback to improve the experience. Keep community health and commercial outcomes visible without pretending they are the same measure.
